New version 7.3.130.292 Platinum Supporter second team support

This version introduces support for Platinum Supporter second team. A new shortcut is added to the Windows start menu (HAM 2nd Team). Using this shortcut will launch HAM using the second team. It will use the existing user OAuth credentials, and will only work for Hattrick Platinum Supporters with a second team.

It is strongly adviced to take backup of all data files before installing this update!

Due to a minor inconvenience in the current Hattrick team data, placing the team activation date for the second team at the same date as the user activation, the functionality to retrieve historical match data has been temporarily disabled for second teams.

OAuth Q&A

What is OAuth?
OAuth is an authorization method, that allows Hattrick users to authorize specific CHPP applications, such as HAM, access to their team data. OAuth is mostly used for web applications, and are probably best known from Twitter.

Can I still use "normal" login with Security Code?
No. OAuth authorization replaces the old login

Are there any benefits to this new login method?
Not really, no. But the old one stops working July 1. 2011

How does it work with HAM?
First, let HAM send you to the Hattrick OAuth authorization page. The page looks like this:

Login with your normal Hattrick login (NOT security code). Allow HAM access to your data. You will then be presented with a verification code, like this:

Take this code (copy/paste) and enter it into the HAM dialog.

You are now ready to use HAM with your Hattrick data. The authorization is saved in your HAM folder, and is valid until you chose to invalidate it. You can always revoke HAM's access to your data from the Hattrick website.

New BETA version 7.1.124.258 HAM 7

HAM has been updated to work with the new Hattrick 5-5-3 lineup. This is a major change to HAM - probably the largest code change in HAM's history. As soon as the brave volunteer beta testers have checked and tested for problems, a real version will be released. Hopefully very soon. This beta is only available to current HAM users.

With this version, HAM registration changes to a yearly subscription. All previously registered users has the option to change to the new "beer-a-year ware" model from within HAM. A welcomming message in HAM will offer this option. HAM can no longer be registered from this website. Registration must be initiated from within the program. Read more about registration/subscription

New Features
  • Changed countles features to support new 5-5-3 lineup schema.
  • Added "Overall" node to Lineup Tool (beta) XML, with weight of rating group (Default 100).
  • Added new default XML to Lineup Tool (beta), courtesy of Goon_Squad (37467).
  • Old Lineup Tool removed.
  • Added Total Team Data export option. Will export all HAM team data to XML. Warning! This can generate a huge file.
  • Changed registration to yearly subscription.
  • Changed EULA
Bug fixes
  • Fixed versioncheck.
  • Fixed contribution bugs in Lineup Tool (beta)
  • HAM should now run without administrator rights on Vista and Windows7

As an effect of the massive changes to HAM's internals, the HAM save data format has also undergone changes. Hence, it is even more important than normal that you make a manual backup of your HAM data, before running this beta test version.

You can follow the discussion in the HAM CHPP conference or HAM Users International federation conference in Hattrick to read more about this update. And you are always welcome to email ham@lokesoftware.dk with comments, thoughts and suggestions.

New "Beer-A-Year ware" subscription

After some debate on the Hattrick HAM forum, it has been decided that the new "Beer-A-Year ware" subscription model will be made optional for current registered users of HAM.

There are expenses connected with keeping HAM running, and I strongly hope that many, if not most, regular HAM users will support the new model. Changing to the new model can be done from within the HAM application, with a new beta version, expected to be released very soon.

Problem with new subscription

There was a problem with the new subscription registration, making the server report wrong expiration dates to HAM. Fortunately all dates reported wrong were in the future, so the problem should not have kept anyone from using HAM. Not so fortunate, someone might get disappointed now that the problem is fixed and the correct dates are shown.

Problems with new Hattrick lineups

As most users have discovered, HAM has problems with the new Hattrick lineup.

Unfortunately, Hattrick has not offered data for matchorders in the new format. In fact, they have crippled the existing data. As much as I would like to get this fixed as soon as possible, I'm afraid that it is currently not possible - at least not within the rules of CHPP.

Several CHPP developers have contacted the HT's about this problem, so far to no avail. I will try to keep everyone posted in the HAM conference in Hattrick, as soon as there are any news on this.

Due to these circumstances, with HAM working less than satisfactory, registration of HAM has been disabled.

Scheduled downtime

Next week, the HAM server will be moved to a new location. Unfortunatly this will cause a little downtime when the server is being physically moved. The server will be taken offline on Monday 25. jan around 16:00 CET. It is expected to come back online Tuesday 26. Jan around 14:00 CET.

Hattrick changes - new training

For the upcomming season, Hattrick has announced a change to the way players recieve training. This will require quite a lot of change to HAM as well, as HAM will have to support both the old and the new way of training, in order not to lose all already accumulated player training. Work has begun to update HAM to support these changes, and a new version will be announced here, as soon as this work is completed.

"HTTP 1.1/500 Internal Server Error"

The "HTTP 1.1/500 Internal Server Error" when retrieving Hattrick data with version 6.1.111.238 (current release) of HAM, is caused by the new Hattrick CHPP XML, as mentioned on MyHattrick, being incompatible with HAM. To solve this, either download the latest beta version of HAM. Or wait until early next week, when a new version will be released.

Hattrick XML broken

The Hattrick XML used to show live matches has been broken by the HT's. Unfortunately, this XML is also used by HAM when retrieving matchdata, in order to get the matchanalysis information. As a result, matchdata retrievals in HAM will report an error, that an unknown version of the XML has been detected.

The HAM error messages is sort of correct, as the returned XML from Hattrick is invalid. The error has been reported to the HT's, along with all the other HT errors... :-(

(Another) New beta version 6.2.113.241 Bug fixes for yesterdays beta

Bug fixes
  • Retrieval of match events fixed
  • Bookmarks (teams and matches) as default matches in Matchviewer
Those who have retrieved matches with yesterdays beta version, that are missing match events, can delete the match(es) from the matchlist by right-clicking the match and select delete. Retrieving it with this beta version should include the events.

Known Issues caused by Hattrick bugs
Matchviewer will not work with matches while they are in progress(!).
Matchviewer will display final result at halftime(!)
Quick match select list in Matchviewer may contain wrongly encoded characters in teamnames
Experience levels in matches are reported wrong

All of the above issues has been reported to the HT's. Once they get fixed by HT, they should work in HAM as well.

HAM TPE Stats problem

The last weeks, a problem with the HAM TPE stats has resulted in the latest transfers not being used to make the stats tables and graphs on this website. The problem has now been fixed, and the TPE Stats tables are once again up to date. The graphs will unfortunately continue to show wrong values for the weeks where the problem has been present. The TPE Stats graphs will start using the correct values again from today.

This problem has not affected the TPE values inside HAM! It was a website statistics problem only.

TPE Graphs fixed

For some time now, the TPE statistical graphs has not been updated. A critical HAM server software update broke the graph updating functionality. This has now been fixed. And fortunately, the server has continued to collect the statistics for the graphs, even in the downtime period. So todays updated graphs shows the (rather depressing) transfer price development for all of the period up until today. In addition, new 8 weeks development graphs have been added, to give a closer look at recent price development.

See the Hattrick-world famous TPE statistical graphs here.

And there was much rejoicing... :-)

HAM and the new youth squad system

With the new youth squad functionality in Hattrick, many HAM users has wondered if HAM will introduce functionality to support this new part of Hattrick. Unfortunately, Hattrick has not yet made support for download of any data regarding these new youth squads, and hence such functionality in HAM could not legally be automated and have the same quality that other HAM functionality has.

HAM will eventutally get support for the new youth squads. But development can not start before the HT's create CHPP support for it. The HT's has promised CHPP developers, that such support will be part of the youth system in the future. It is not yet known, if the HT's plan on introducing this support within weeks, months or years though.

"HTTP 1.1/500 Internal Server Error"

Many users are having issues with an error message "HTTP 1.1/500 Internal Server Error" when trying to retrieve teamdata in HAM. This problem is caused by an error with the XML data on the Hattrick servers. It has been reported that it sometimes helps to retrieve matchdata (even when already up to date) first. Also, closing and restarting HAM a few times, in order to get assigned to another Hattrick server might help aswell.

The HT's has been made aware of the problem, and hopefully it will be fixed soon.

TPE crash update

Unfortunately, the webhotel hosting the TPE database service has lost the TPE database. Permantently. While this of course is inexcusable, the first concern at this time must be to get the TPE service back online. A new database has now been brought online - but it's currently empty. And as such, the TPE service is ogf much worse quality than usual. The good news is, that in 8 weeks time, TPE will be back at full strength, since TPE only uses transfers from the last 8 weeks. In the meantime, I will try to obtain as many of the lost transfers and submit them to the database, to make the quality loss as small as possible in the following 8 weeks. But unfortunately, some degree of quality loss will be unavoidable.

I sincereley apologize for this TPE downtime and quality loss. Steps has been taken to avoid a similar situation in the future.

Hattrick Data Changed

The Hattrick teamdata XML has changed today. The new XML data has been verified for use with the latest version and beta version of HAM. If you are getting an error telling you that the Hattrick data has changed, please verify that you are using the latest version of HAM. If not, you will have to update your HAM installation.

If you get the error, even while using the latest version, it is because the automatic HAM XML version check is unable to contact the HAM server (probably due to your firewall settings). You can solve this in one of two ways:

1) Allow HAM access to the HAM server (213.173.228.232)
Highly recommended, as everything will be done automatically then!

Login with password disabled by Hattrick

The last several versions of HAM has all supported Hattrick login with the CHPP Security Code login. For compatability reasons (with other CHPP applications), Hattrick decided to leave the possibility for "normal" password login open for a long time. This possibility has now been closed. All CHPP applications must now login to Hattrick using the Security Code. If you are getting an error from HAM, telling you that your username or password are wrong, there are two reasons:

A) You are using an old version of HAM. Go here to get the latest version.
B) You now have to use the Hattrick Security Code and not your password. Create a Security Code in the preferences on the Hattrick site.

A newsletter was sent to many of the registered users of HAM by email, containing an offer for another (poker assistant) program from Loke Software. A few HAM users has felt offended by this message which they regarded as a spam mail. It was never intended as such, but thinking about it, I can see how they regarded it like that.

For that, I sincerely appologies to all who may have felt offended by the message. I can guarantee, that no such email will ever be sent again to registered HAM users.
